Early Life in Minsk, Belarus

I was born in Minsk, Belarus, with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that shaped my early life in profound ways. Visiting Canada: Kids of Chernobyl Summer Program

In the summers of 2001 and 2003, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Canada through the Kids of Chernobyl Summer Program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The program was designed to provide children affected by the Chernobyl disaster with a chance to experience a healthy environment, education, and cultural exchange. For me, these visits were life-changing. I spent the summers with my aunt, who still resides in Winnipeg, experiencing Canadian life, culture, and the warmth of its communities.

In the fall of 2006, my family and I moved permanently to Winnipeg under the Provincial Nominee Program. Transitioning to a new country as a teenager was challenging. I had to adapt to a new language, culture, and educational system while managing the daily realities of living with Cerebral Palsy. The initial months were difficult, but my resilience and support from my family helped me adjust.

I enrolled in Dakota Collegiate, where I faced a rigorous academic environment alongside a diverse group of students. Adapting to the Canadian educational system required focus and perseverance, but I was determined to succeed. I found particular interest in mathematics, computer science, and technical subjects, which would later form the foundation of my career. Teachers recognized my potential and encouraged me to pursue opportunities in technology, networking, and IT systems.

After completing high school at Dakota Collegiate, I continued my education at Winnipeg Technical College, now known as the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology.
